Anita Hassanandani calls here and Eijaz Khan split a ‘difficult breakup’; says, “It took me over a year to move on”

Anita Hassanandani is one of the most popular actress of tinsel town. She has featured in numerous shows like Kkavyanjali, Kabhii Sautan Kabhii Sahelii, Yeh Hai Mohabbatein among others. She is currently been seen in Suman Indori with Zain Imam and Ashnoor Kaur. While she has been slaying on personal front, her personal life has also been talk of the town. Anita Hassanandani was in a serious relationship with Eijaz Khan. The two parted ways on an ugly note and now the actress has opened up about the challenging phase.

In an interview with Hauterrfly, Anita was asked about her much-publicised relationship with Eijaz Khan, she said, “That was one of the first few long-ish relationships of my life. And I’d also gone against my mom because he was from another culture. He was Muslim, and I’m a Hindu. She didn’t outright forbid it, but she always had her concerns. We were good individually, but we weren’t good for each other. It didn’t work out, and that’s that.”

Anita admitted that it was a ‘difficult breakup’, and it took her over a year to get over him. She said, “Somebody is wanting to change you in order to be in love with you, it’s not love. But I didn’t realise it then, because I was in love, and I was willing to change for the person I loved. I wish I hadn’t changed all that much, and been myself. I would’ve been a different person… It took me over a year to move on. I literally moved into my best friend’s house because I was so low. Every morning, she would pep me up…”

She had earlier as well spoke about how she lost film in prime phase of her career due to relationship. In a chat with Siddharth Kannan, she said, “I learnt a lot, I became a better person, we were just two very good people not good for each other. The only thing I regret is that I let go of my prime career.” She further added, “I wasn’t sure if Eijaz was okay with it. He didn’t stop me, but because I wanted to overdo in the relationship, I made a few bad career moves.” ​
